Donuts
Ingredients
- 1-CUP SUGAR
- ¼ CUP MELTED BUTTER
- 1 TSP. VANILLA
- 2 EGGS
- 4 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR
- 4 TSP BAKING POWDER
- ¾ TSP SALT
- ¼ TSP BAKING SODA
- 1-CUP BUTTERMILK
Directions
- Beat eggs well, add sugar gradually stir in vanilla and butter.
- Sift flour and measure 4 cups and sift 5 more times putting the baking powder, soda and salt before sifting.
- Add flour and buttermilk alternately to egg mixture, mixing after each addition until smooth.
- Roll dough ½ inch thick punch out circles.
- Fry in deep fat 375 until golden brown.
- Cool and roll in sugar.
