Stuffed Sausage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 8 sausage patties (from sliced bulk sausage)
  • 1 c dried bread crumbs or croutons
  • 1/3 c chopped celery
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 2/3 c heavy whipping cream
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Directions

  1. Brown sausage patties lightly.
  2. Place four on bottom of greased casserole pan.
  3. Mix bread crumbs or croutons, celery, onions, salt, pepper and milk in a large bowl.
  4. Using a large spoon, scoop on a large dollop of the bread crumb mixture on each sausage patty in the casserole pan.
  5. Then add remaining sausage patty to the top.
  6. Pour mushroom soup over patties.
  7. Any remaining crumb mixture can be added to the top.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
