Sour Cream Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoon almond flavoring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Diretions
- Separate eggs. Beat egg whites until stiff with ½ cup sugar. Set aside.
- Cream thoroughly the butter and sugar, add the egg yolks, sour cream and flavoring.
- When these have been thoroughly combined turn mixer to low speed and gradually add sifted cake flour and baking soda.
- Fold beaten egg whites into above mixture with a large spoon.
- Pour at once into a greased and floured large tube pan.
- Bake at 325 for 1 hour or until done.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before attempting to remove.
