Hot Mushroom Dip

Ingredients

  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 c.  chopped green onion
  • 4 T butter
  • 2 T flour
  • 1 T milk
  • 1 c. sour cream (or unflavored Greek yogurt)
  • 1/2 tsp salt, pepper, paprika
  • a dash of liquid hot pepper sauce

Directions

  1. Saute mushrooms and onions in butter or margarine.
  2. Sprinkle with flour, blend and brown lightly.
  3. Add milk and half of the sour cream.
  4. Continue cooking and stirring over low heat until mushrooms are tender.
  5. Add seasonings and remaining sour cream.
  6. Serve hot with toast triangles and toasted wheat crackers.
