Hamburger Soup
Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger or fresh sausage
- onion, chopped
- pepper, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- salt/pepper to taste
- 3 bay leaves
- clove garlic
- 2 tsp italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- tabl sugar
- 1 can 16 oz diced tomatoes
Directions
- Fry all ingredients together drain well.
- Add 3 bay leaves, clove garlic, 2 tsp Italian seasoning, ½ tsp thyme, T of sugar (more or less to taste)
- Add 1 can (16oz) of diced tomatoes (I use the seasoned kind) juice and all!
- Using the tom. can, add 4-5 cans full of water.
- Bring to a boil and turn back to simmer.
- Simmer for 1-2 hours (you know, the longer it sits….blah, blah)
- Right before serving, bring to a boil and add your noodles (I use the thin egg noodles). Cook until tender, serve.
