Fluffy Biscuits 2
Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 3 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 c shortening (or a stick of butter)
- 1 egg
- 2/3 c milk
Directions
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
- Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Beat egg with milk; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
- Turn onto a well floured surface
- Knead 20 times (I use my kitchen aid)
- Roll to 3/4 inch thickness
- Cut with a floured 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter.
- Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 450 for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with butter.
