Chocolate Chip Scones
Ingredients
- 1/2 c whipping cream
- 1 large egg
- 2 1/2 c flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 stick cold butter, cut into small pieces
- 3/4 c semi-sweet chips
- 1/3 c sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Beat cream and egg together in a small bowl and put aside.
- In Kitchen Aid with a pastry blender, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda.
- Add the butter in the Kitchen Aid bowl while continuing to mix.
- Add the sugar and chocolate chips.
- Slowly mix in the egg mixture. Mix only until if forms a dough.
- It should be sticky.
- Place dough on a floured surface and shape into a 9-inch circle, like a pie pan.
- Pre-cut into 10 to 12 wedges.
- Move wedges onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
you can substitue chocolate chips with dried fruit, blueberries or cherries.
