Apple Slices

CRUST

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ tsp. baking power
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • ¾  cup lard
  1. Sift dry ingredients into bowl.  Cut in lard as you would for pie.
  2. Mix egg yolks, water and lemon juice and add to four mixture.  Blend Gently
  3. Dough will be very soft.  Knead slightly.
  4. Bake in a 13x9x2-inch pan
  5. Put together as you would for a pie.
  6. P.S. You can chill up to 6 hours or overnight.

Filling

  • 10 apples more or less
  • 2 table spoons cinnamon
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons. Flour

Bake

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Topping

While still warm, frost top with mixture of

  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2 tbls. Butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tble. milk.
